On November 1st, 2013, Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week Annual Award 2013 was successfully held, marking the glamorous ending of the 16th edition of Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2014.
Sponsored by Chinese’s brand WHITE COLLAR, “China Top Ten Fashion Designers”, “China Top Ten Fashion Models” were announced during the Annual Award ceremony. Liuwei won the 17th “China Top Award”; Zeng Fengfei and Wang Yutao won Best Menswear Designer of the Year; Pan Yiliang won Best Womenwear Designer of the Year; and Best Male Model and Best Female Model of the Year went to Luobin and Cheng Yijia respectively.
During the eight-day event, over 70 activities including fashion showcases, contests, forums and press conferences were held. 56 brands and 51 designers participated in 48 showcases including womenwear, menwear, wedding gowns, sportswear, denim, children wear, shoes and hair design. 7 top designers participated in “Designing Chinese Dream – Joint Brands Exhibition”, showcasing the creativity and gift of contemporary Chinese design power.
More than 500 models participated in the fashion shows with 600 local and international journalists reported on the event. Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2014 became the most revolutionary among its history, standing out its international features in terms of activities, forms and partnerships.
The fashion week also served as a platform for young designers. 109 young designers showcased their design talents in sports, textile, leisure and lingerie contests. Projects from 10 young designers were exhibited in “10+3 Showroom”.
With large success, the event also celebrated 20th Anniversary of the organizer – China Fashion Association. The organizing committee successfully put China Fashion Week in world map, bridging Chinese fashion and business to rest of the world.
