2 years in. Allow us to reintroduce ourselves.
“A modern day handbook that amplifies fashion voices, talent and people from South Africa and the continent at large.”
Our short story, even though 2020 has made it feel rather stretched out, has been about resetting the business from primarily publishing a bi-annual print magazine distributed during fashion week to a more digitally focused platform serving the local fashion community, and building and growing community in an organic way on social media.
Whilst some new ideas and plans have been binned due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, our growth in community and engagement on our social media platforms has risen and remains positive as stated here. This comes down to creating and curating ‘in tune’ with the times, with high levels of adaptability and agility and constant innovation.
Notwithstanding a tough and tricky year to date, our plan is to remain steadfast in our purpose to contribute to the growth and substance of the fashion industry in South Africa.
And with that in mind, to declare that Fashion handbook South Africa is independent. Both Independently woman owned and published.
Our brand of content is informative, inspiring and influential-always within the context of the current zeitgeist both locally and globally.
Talent spotting and supporting young and emerging fashion talent remains a key imperative as does embodying diverse and contemporary creativity.
Look out for some new announcements in the coming weeks.
It remains our hope to shape conversations, create significant platforms, promote incredible young talent and grow communities all in a collaborative environment with partners.
