Urban Traveller – A Short Story On Style

IMG_3817
Raw in Cape Town is one of my favorite places to grab a coffee, you’ll see all types of hip, stylish people milling around here. I love finding inspiration on the street. The other morning while at Raw I saw these four guys. They were styling !
The theme “Urban Traveller” has been thrown around now for many season. When I saw these four chaps, Daniel, Ibbi, Raff and Dulla slamming the vibe I had to document their style and will be using the way they styled their looks as inspiration.

Raff wears a button-up  dark indigo shirt, fitted to the body with military styled hooded jacket, his jeans are pleated, anti-fit and he accessorizes the look with a short peak military cap, converse and stubble. Colours are moody shades of blue with Khaki.

Daniel’s personal style is retro with a splash of nerd. Chatting to him about how he creates his look, Daniel explained that he enjoys finding pieces from a bygone era and altering them to make it current. His shirt is vintage Dior, jacket was given to him by his dad (from the 50’s) and he made the pants himself from his final year collection.

Ibbi on the other hand, fuses sporty with military. I loved the soft-patterned scarf against the rugged jacket and the grey Nike trainers worn with super skinny grey jeans. Also love the fact that his jeans and trainers are almost the same colour.
Nike trainers worn with a suit or dressed with tailored pants looks fresh.

Dulla wears this seasons key shape: the Bomber. Designed in a leather melton mix referencing the college “jock” jacket. In monotone colours it looks sleeker and more urban. He brings a pop of fun to his look by wearing the unexpected – dot socks with a pair of explorer boots.
