Tom Tailor Arrives in SA

The trendy German lifestyle brand has opened in Sandton.

South African fashion retail holding company Edcon has been granted exclusive franchise rights for this iconic brand, one of the fastest-growing fashion houses in Germany and Europe. The two labels, Tom Tailor Casual and Tom Tailor Denim, offer versatile quality wear for the entire family at affordable prices. It’s cool, comfortable fashion that will turn heads.

The brand was founded by Uwe Schröder in 1962 and has become renowned for swiftly capturing new fashion trends and offering its more discerning customers high quality fashion at attractive prices. The range is high-quality, fashionable casual wear with on-trend denim.

Tom Tailor can be found in 35 countries around the world.

The flagship 300 square metre store is in Sandton City and currently Tom Tailor Denim shop-in-shops are rolling out exclusively within 25 Edgars’ stores.  With the launch of its “Thank U” loyalty programme, Edcon now has the largest retail customer database in South Africa, enabling it to provide customers with relevant offers across its suite of retail and financial services products. Customers will be able to use their Thank U cards for both cash and credit purchases in the same way as they would at any other Edcon store, whether shopping at the stand-alone store or within Edgars’ stores.

“Part of our ongoing strategy is to be a destination for brands and fashionable on-trend merchandise for South African consumers,” says Edcon CEO Jürgen Schreiber.

The Tom Tailor Women collections are aimed at young, modern women. Fashionable highlights, refined details and premium qualities embody these collections. While we often assume that women are the main lovers of fashion, SA men will be very excited about Tom Tailor Men. This brand offers a casual and sporty look for independent, fashion-conscious men who appreciate high-quality products. Tom Tailor Denim is all about a positive attitude to life, for those that want to express their true individual style.

I bought a Tom Tailor t-shirt in Europe 3 years ago and the quality is better than Element and Hurley put together! Let us pray it is the real German Tom Tailer and not from Asia!
