Apparel industry website just-style has announced the launch of an interactive tool designed to help sourcing executives in the clothing industry.
The tool, ‘Global Sourcing Snapshots’, provides detailed information on some of the leading apparel supplier countries, drilling down to provide key data for an at-a-glance overview of the industry’s size, strengths and weaknesses.
The interactive databank includes key intelligence on factory numbers, export value, labour costs, and detail on main garment export markets, in addition to data on shipping costs, lead times and important trade agreements that affect the fashion industry.
Michelle Russell, just-style’s deputy editor, said: “Apparel is a truly global industry, and those involved in the sourcing of clothing have to strike the right balance between cost, sustainability, speed, ethical factors, and business continuity.
“This tool is designed to assist those involved in apparel sourcing in their decision making by putting key facts at their fingertips.”
In addition to the data contained in the tool, just-style’s journalists have also provided mini SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analyses for each country featured.
Countries profiled in the tool include China, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Cambodia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Myanmar (formerly known as Burma).
The tool is exclusively available to just-style subscribers. However, just-style is currently allowing interested parties to trial full access to their site.
