Dutch fashion and design company Vlisco Group has appointed David Suddens, chairman of the Advisory Board of Vlisco Group, as CEO. The opinion of the Workers Council is positive. Most recently David was CEO of the Dr Martens footwear and clothing brand, leading the successful turnaround of that business. David Suddens has started in his new role as of 15 September 2015.
The Vlisco Group is pleased to have the benefit of David’s experience and management skills which are ideally suited to Vlisco at this stage of the Group’s growth. David Suddens spent 30 years in Europe’s textile and clothing industry. He was CEO of companies in the UK, France and Germany, both public and private. One of his roles was as CEO of DMC (France), which was the world’s largest textile printer, also with interests in West Africa. The turnaround of the iconic brand Dr. Martens has been recognized around the world as a significant achievement.
The Vlisco Group designs, produces and distributes fashion fabrics for the West and Central African market and African consumers in global metropolitan cities.
